About Me

My name, Rohit, means "the rising sun" in Sanskrit—a reminder to bring energy and purpose to all I do. I strive to cultivate empathy and inclusion, aspiring to make my community more accessible for all.

My Mission

As the founder of AssistiveTech4All, I’m passionate about leveraging technology to create a more inclusive world. I design and build assistive devices, while building a community of students committed to accessibility.

I spearhead an accessibility initiative at my school and work as a student liaison with the Student Voice in Action Committee to present findings and recommendations to the school board members. I also serve as a student leader in a districtwide ADA audit committee. Our efforts focus on immediate improvements to make all our schools in the district more accessible, including accessible restrooms and doorways.

Accessibility through Empathy

Growing up in a multi-generational household, I learned the importance of empathy, especially after witnessing my grandmother adapt to life with a disability. This personal experience inspired me to tackle accessibility challenges in my community.

Recently, I conducted a survey of students and special education teachers at my school, identifying issues like malfunctioning accessible doors and inadequate ramps. These experiences have shown me that accessibility isn’t just about solving immediate problems—it’s about creating a world where everyone feels empowered to reach their full potential.

By working together, we can build a future where inclusion is a reality for all.
